If you are flexible and adventurous when it comes to accommodation, we suggest booking a hotel on Hotwire.com Hotwire is a travel website that will allow you to search for hotels in the general area in which you would like to stay, within a “star” category (e.g., 4 star). However, it does not reveal the name of the hotel until you make your non-refundable reservation. You may get something slightly out of the way, but you can also save a lot of money. For instance, a search (made in September) for a stay April 4 to 6, 2008, yielded a 4 star hotel in downtown Ottawa for $89/night!
For those who prefer to be a little
more sure about where they are staying, we recommend the
following:
Fairmont Chateau Laurier (4 star): Probably the best known hotel in Ottawa, with the Parliament buildings on one side, and the Byward market on the other. We have arranged a negotiated rate starting at $199/night, pending availability. To make a reservation, call Michèle Trembley at (613) 241-1425 x3122 and quote code XMCBRYK.

Westin Hotel (4 star): Adjacent to the Rideau Center shopping mall, this hotel is close to the Chateau Laurier and is in a similar class; from $189/night

Two luxury hotels are located in walking distance of the Church: Minto Place and Crowne Plaza. There are numerous other three and four star hotels such as Radisson, Sheraton, Marriott, and Courtyard Marriott, in the downtown area.
Cartier Place Suite Hotel: This hotel is conveniently located off Elgin St. in the downtown area. Cartier Place has studio, one, and two bedroom suites with kitchenettes. We have arranged a negotiated rate starting at $139/night, however reservations must be made by March 4th. Please call (800) 236-8399 and quote McGinn/Bryk wedding block.
Les Suites Hotel: This hotel is located near the Rideau Center and Byward Market. It has one and two bedroom units which include kitchenettes and washer/dryer facilities. It is good for guests traveling with children, or two couples interested in sharing common space. Prices usually start around $140 a night, but specials are often available.
There are only a few B&Bs in the downtown area of Ottawa. For an extremely affordable stay, we recommend the Byward Blue Inn. Although it is listed as a “B&B” it is slightly different. This is a large inn with 40 rooms, starting at $89 per night. It is within walking distance of the reception venue, the Courtyard Restaurant -- you will be able to stagger home within minutes. Rooms are modest and clean; a continental breakfast is included. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 620-8810.

West End Accommodation
For those guests interested in staying outside the downtown area, towards the west end of Ottawa, we recommend two hotels. The first is Best Western Macies Hotel, located on Carling Avenue near Merivale and the Queensway (Hwy 417). Rooms start at $109/night, with CAA and Seniors discounts. Another option is Webb’s Motel, located on Carling Avenue slightly east of Broadview Avenue. Single rooms start at $70/night.
*Please note that parking is an additional charge at all of the downtown establishments. Information on public parking garages in the downtown area are available here.
